Training Courses
Whether you are new to diving, wish to develop your skills, or would like to cross-train to the BSAC approach, we can provide the training to suit your needs. Fees shown below are current as at April 2023.

BSAC Ocean Diver This course is for beginners and provides the essential knowledge and skills needed to prepare for open water diving. The BSAC Ocean Diver course prepares for this in the safety of a swimming pool or sheltered water and an introduction to open water in a controlled, safe manner. Experience and confidence will be gained under the guidance of a qualified instructor. Maximum depth - 20m. Please note that trainees must be at least 15 years old and a BSAC membership is required. Cost: Ocean Diver Training Package (£340, or £280 for those in full time education or apprenticeships) - includes:

BSAC Sports Diver training builds on the scuba skills learnt in the Ocean Diver course (or entry level qualification from another agency) and helps develop your confidence, skills and experience in the water to allow you to enjoy a wider range of diving sites and conditions up to 40m. The course builds a sound foundation of open water diving skills and experience with structured, practical lessons. This is a good way of getting more dives under your belt while learning under the supervision of a qualified instructor. See the BSAC website full description.

BSAC Dive Leader Core to Dive Leader training is extending your personal diving to depths of up to 50m so you can plan and lead more adventurous dives needing detailed planning for gas and decompression requirements. Other skills introduced include using ‘lift and shift’ techniques to recover underwater objects. You’ll also gain the expertise to plan dives for groups of divers, manage dives, and manage a rescue situation in an emergency, including carrying out casualty assessment and administering basic life support with oxygen. BSAC Skills Development Courses BSAC offers a wide range of special interest courses, designed to ensure you get the very best out of your diving. Their programme of Skill Development Courses (SDCs) are regularly held by Regional Coaching Teams, BSAC Centres and can be staged in our club. See the BSAC website for a list of courses.
Cross-over training can be provided if you have trained with another agency and wish to gain BSAC qualification.

Snorkel training is available at £20 per one-hour session. Two sessions are recommended.
