Whether you are new to diving, wish to develop your skills, or would like to cross-train to the BSAC approach, we can provide the training to suit your needs.

BSAC Ocean Diver This course is for beginners and provides the essential knowledge and skills needed to prepare for open water diving. The BSAC Ocean Diver course prepares for this in the safety of a swimming pool or sheltered water and an introduction to open water in a controlled, safe manner. Experience and confidence will be gained under the guidance of a qualified instructor. Maximum depth - 20m. See the BSAC website for a full description. Please note that trainees must be at least 15 years old.

Cost: Ocean Diver Training Package (£375) - includes:

  • Club membership

  • BSAC membership (including monthly magazine)

  • Training pack (training manual, log book, BSAC DVD, club brochure)

  • All equipment hire for the Ocean Diver course (5 pool sessions and 5 open water sessions*)

  • Ocean Diver instruction

  • Ocean Diver theory sessions (7 lectures + revision and test)


*please note this excludes entry and air fills at locations such as Gildenburgh Water.

BSAC Sports Diver  training builds on the scuba skills learnt in the Ocean Diver course (or entry level qualification from another agency) and helps develop your confidence, skills and experience in the water to allow you to enjoy a wider range of diving sites and conditions. The course builds a sound foundation of open water diving skills and experience with structured, practical lessons. This is a good way of getting more dives under your belt while learning under the supervision of a qualified instructor. See the BSAC website full description.

  • Club membership

  • Training pack (training manual, log book, BSAC DVD, club brochure)

  • Sports Diver instruction

  • Sports Diver theory sessions

BSAC Skills Development Courses BSAC offers a wide range of special interest courses, designed to ensure you get the very best out of your diving. Their programme of Skill Development Courses (SDCs) are regularly held by Regional Coaching Teams, BSAC Centres and can be staged in our club. See the BSAC website for a list of courses.

Cross-over training can be provided if you have trained with another agency and wish to gain BSAC qualification.

Snorkel training is available at £20 per one-hour session. Two sessions are recommended.
